Professional Summary

After graduating as Civil Engineer in Belgium, Axel returned to Congo where he was born and worked for 3 years in the construction industry implementing modern management techniques (and IBM computer) and 3 years as Managing Director of an Equipment Centre in public sector, in far remote region from the capital, with responsibilities for over 400 employees (including several expatriates) and development projects sponsored by the Worldbank, USAID and FED.

Over a period of 15 years in several countries in Europe and in the US, his responsibilities increased up to the executive positions of European and Global Procurement Director.

As European Purchasing Manager, he led the successful reorganization and consolidation of systems, policies and work processes of the entire European Purchasing group. Later, as Global Procurement Director, he was instrumental in integrating European Purchasing into a global structure. During that period he also demonstrated genuine interest in applying the latest Internet technologies to streamline the sourcing and procurement of fabricated equipment for Dow’s new investments. From 2000 until 2004, he applied all his experience and enthusiasm in developing and implementing Dow’s global eProcurement strategies.

In 2004, took the opportunity to move into Business development by joining a global eMarketplace Trade-Ranger (later acquired by Hubwoo.com), as Global Key Account Director responsible for managing the largest contributing and highly demanding corporate customer (TOTAL S.A., headquartered in Paris).

Finally, in June 2006 founded International Source to Pay, providing Sourcing, Procurement and eBusiness advice to large companies in Thailand, Belgium, and France, and developing the Thai market for several e-Commerce applications. His professional and personal life his career he brings an amazing cross-cultural diversity

Axel was born in Congo where he lived almost 20 years. He has Belgian nationality, but lives and works mostly from his virtual office in Bangkok, Thailand. He holds a Masters degree in Civil Engineering (1980 - University of Ghent, Belgium) and a Masters in Science of Management (1987 - Boston University, USA)
