In Exxon and ExxonMobil Japan, Yasuda assumed various key leadership positions in Marketing, Information Systems and Human Resources. Yasuda was the HR manager of Esso Sekiyu, the Exxon’s affiliate in Japan from 1996 he than became the Country HR Manager of ExxonMobil Group Companies in Japan and was promoted to the position of HR Director of ExxonMobil Japan in 2000 role he assumed till he retired in 2007. Yasuda’s contribution included the harmonization of the working conditions of four companies which meant the rationalization of the employees’ Total Remuneration including salary, bonus, pension plans, etc. While leading the restructuring of the various workforces at Exxon, Esso and Mobil Yasuda managed to maintain good relationship with the major labor unions at the various companies’ sites.
Yasuda was a member of the Management Committee of ExxonMobil Japan and a member of the Leadership Team of ExxonMobil’s Asia Pacific HR. In those assignments Yasuda made significant contribution to various projects in Marketing, Refining & Supply, Chemicals and Business Services by providing professional advices for the management of those functions. He also facilitated the migration of the transactional activities of those functions to the Business Service Center in Bangkok.
Yasuda was born in Yokohama city in 1950 and graduated from Keio University in 1973, where he majored in economics. Yasuda acquired MBA from Keio Business School in 1980.
